Rachel Bashabe’s journey from being a simple fashion enthusiast to becoming the founder of Veryl Designs is an inspiring tale of passion, hard work, and determination.
Born and raised in Uganda, Rachel always had a keen interest in fashion. From a young age, she was fascinated by the magical transformation that clothes could bring about in a person’s appearance and confidence. This fascination soon turned into passion as she began to experiment with different styles, fabrics, and designs.
Despite her love for fashion, Rachel pursued a degree in Business Administration from Makerere University. However, her heart remained firmly rooted in the world of style and design. After graduation, instead of following the conventional path of securing a corporate job, she decided to follow her passion and delve into the realm of fashion designing.
With no formal training or background in fashion design, Rachel embarked on her journey with sheer determination and an unwavering belief in herself. She started by designing clothes for her friends and family members. Her unique designs were met with overwhelming appreciation which boosted her confidence.
In 2013, Rachel took a leap of faith and founded Veryl Designs – a clothing brand that aimed at providing stylish yet comfortable clothing for women. The brand was named after her mother – Veryl – who had been her biggest inspiration throughout her life.
The beginning years were challenging for Rachel as she struggled to establish herself in the competitive fashion industry. However, she never let these challenges deter her spirit. She continued to work tirelessly towards improving her designs and expanding her clientele.
Veryl Designs gradually began to gain recognition for its unique blend of traditional Ugandan elements with modern western styles. Rachel’s designs were characterized by their vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and high-quality fabric – all inspired by the rich culture and heritage of Uganda.
In just a few years since its inception, Veryl Designs has carved out a niche for itself in Uganda’s fashion industry. It has showcased its collections at various fashion shows and has been featured in several fashion magazines. Today, Veryl Designs is not just a brand; it’s a reflection of Rachel’s passion for fashion and her commitment to empowering women through her designs.
Rachel Bashabe’s journey is a testament to the power of passion and perseverance. Her story serves as an inspiration for aspiring designers who dream of making it big in the fashion industry. From a simple fashion enthusiast to the founder of Veryl Designs, Rachel has indeed come a long way. Yet, she believes that this is just the beginning, and there are many more milestones to achieve in her exciting journey.
